Kathryn messaged me recently to share her wonderful news. She has kindly let me share her message to me with you. I was very impressed that Kathryn managed to stay calm when her birth plans kept changing. Her little ones position was off, she tried so much and there was nothing more she could have done. I’m glad they had a great team looking after them.
I’m really pleased they both signed up to the Talking Babies Midwife Led classes. It is lovely to know they truly helped when it mattered most.
Please join me in wishing Kathryn, Dean and Alexis many happy memories as a little family.
‘Hi Emily,
We hope you are well. We wanted to introduce Alexis to you born on 30th Jan (5 days before her due date) Her birth unfortunately wasn’t as expected, but we are so grateful to the support we had.
I went to see the consultant and they booked me to be induced the same day. When I went down they said they could break my waters without needing to be induced but as there was no space on labour ward they gave me the gel anyway to help things along. Contractions then came thick and fast with very little break even with the injection to slow them down. I then had my waters broken and made it to fully dilated and needing to push.
Unfortunately Alexis had gotten into a difficult position so I required a spinal and instrumental help to reposition her however this didn’t work and it ended with an emergency c section.
I’m so grateful for the advice and information given in your classes. Without it all of the above would have seemed even more daunting especially the number of people in the theatre room. It helped to have an understanding of what was going on around us so we could remain calm throughout the surgery.
Thanks again for everything,
From Kathryn and Dean’
