Caroline recently contacted me to share her positive but, intense birth story. Caroline with her partner Johnny attended a Hypnobirthing course with me because they wanted to be informed and have skills to stay positive and in control. Caroline’s birth was very quick and towards the end it clearly overwhelmed her. But, what I love about Caroline’s story is that although you know she found it difficult she did not give up. Amazingly she doesn’t look back on her birth dwelling on the part she disliked instead she is incredibly positive and proud. So she should be.
I am very pleased that her classes helped her when she needed them most.
Thank you Caroline for sharing. I know this will help so many…
I hope you are well!
I thought I would email to let you know how we got on!
Rosemary was born on 4th December at 2.50pm weighing 7lb7oz. We are totally in love and she is just perfect ❤
Our plan was a home birth but this didn’t quite go to plan. She was 12 days overdue and I was booked for induction the same day but she decided to come on her own. I honestly think I was anxious about being overdue and once I had prepared my hospital bag and was mentally prepared for induction I relaxed and this kicked things off naturally. I started with contractions at 3.30am and a show, these ramped up quickly but I managed to listen to some hypnobirthing tracks and practiced the up breathing which really helped. I felt I was coping fairly well but my waters broke at 10.40pm and contained meconium so after assessment by the midwife I had to go into hospital for monitoring. I found the car journey really uncomfortable and contractions were frequent and much more intense. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get back into the zone once at the Hospital and she arrived within 2 hours. It was very quick and intense and I did not enjoy it at the time – I think the midwife had to get quite stern with me! However as soon as Rosemary arrived it’s amazing how all is forgotten immediately and I feel nothing but positive about the whole experience! She is just perfect and came out crying which was reassuring. It was the best feeling in the world to have her finally here.
I feel hypnobirthing hugely helped me prepare for labour and the information about the actual process and discussion about interventions/monitoring was really helpful too. Hypnobirthing helped me relax and enjoy my pregnancy, I slept better and the affirmations were lovely.
I have made some lovely friends from our hypnobirthing group which is another positive to take from your classes – they have been a huge support and we all talk daily. All our births have been different but I have noticed how we all perceive our births to be positive and this is down to hypnobirthing, thank you!
I would thoroughly recommend your classes to anyone, they were of huge benefit and we really enjoyed them. Thank you so much!
