A lovely friend/colleague/hypnobirthing client, Rachael messaged me last week with exciting news. I know many of the Talking Babies followers will love reading this birth story. Rachael’s birth could have been so different if she hadn’t practiced her hypnobirthing techniques. Intense labours, like Rachael’s, can instantly panic a woman interrupting the natural process of birth. Rachael and her husband Matt knew this and were determined to remove Rachael’s anxieties and birth fear so together they practiced the hypnobirthing techniques learnt in class. This has proven to be invaluable to Rachael and Matt. Plus, now they both have these calming skills and techniques for life as new parents.
For all the Midwives reading this… occasionally we can have natural births too!

‘Hi Emily.
Hope you’re ok!
Just wanted to let you know Baby boy Jackson made his appearance yesterday at 11:24am and weighed 7lb 8oz.
It was a really intense labour! Only 2 hours 24 minutes!!
The hypnobirthing really helped me stay calm, listen to and trust my body and it allowed Matt to support me really well! I couldn’t use the birthing pool in the end as there wasn’t one free but we were able to just take that in our stride and just used the tens and entonox, along with a bit of aromatherapy.
We’re so glad we came to the classes and practiced the techniques! I feel like it could have been a very different labour and birth if I was still as anxious as I was before coming to the classes.
Thank you so much for helping us have such a wonderful experience!! ‘
Thank you to Rachael for sharing her birth, I know it will help many expectant parents.
