Welcome to ‘Talking Babies’, antenatal classes that aim to be fun, relaxed and informative. I’m Emily, the founder of Talking Babies. I qualified as a midwife ten years ago and continue to practice today. Perhaps more importantly, I’m a mother. I have experienced local maternity hospitals both professionally and as a mother. Therefore, I am able to give a unique, unbiased perspective of each.
As a midwife I highly recommend every expectant couple to attend classes led by qualified, impartial professionals. The sea of information out there can be quite daunting. Let me help you to learn the facts and empower you with knowledge. My classes are focused around today’s care and advice, what to expect and how to get the most from your experience. It is important to remain positive even when birth/parenting plans change.
My friendly antenatal classes consist of four informal classes. I will cover an array of topics within pregnancy, birth and the early days.
Further to the classes I will also organise a social reunion, just for your group, where you can meet again, share your birth stories and most importantly meet your new arrivals! Allowing your small class time to get to know each other, helping you to form what will be, I’m certain, an invaluable social network.
I have limited spaces so please book early to avoid disappointment.
I recommend you start my classes when you are 26-30 weeks pregnant. However, please contact me if you wish to attend when further on in your pregnancy.
For insurance purposes, during my classes I will not be able to offer hands-on Midwifery care. Should any issues or concerns arise I will encourage you to immediately contact your local maternity care provider.
Hope to see you soon!
